First Principles collects only what it needs to deliver publication emails and understand how the site is being used.

Email subscriptions

When you subscribe, your email address is sent to Resend, our email delivery provider. It is added to the subscriber list only after you confirm your address. We use it solely to tell you when a new First Principles essay is published.

Links in publication emails may pass through a First Principles tracking address operated by Resend. This allows us to measure whether a link was clicked and understand which essays readers choose to visit. We use this information to improve the publication. We do not use invisible tracking pixels to measure whether an email has been opened.

Your choices

Every publication email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask for your address to be corrected or deleted by emailing hello@firstprinciplesessays.com.

Site measurement

The site uses Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and improve the reading experience. First Principles does not sell subscriber information.
